Boy Howdy and Wrappin up the East Coast
Uncategorized July 26th, 2007Boy howdy it was good to be back East again! What great energy and great Richie Furay fans there are back there. BTW, Chris Hillman and the guys have been such a joy to play with. They are some really talented guys; so thanks Chris, Herb and Larry. Oh and speaking of Boy Howdy I just figured out that Larry played in that band, I used to sing their songs when I was a little girl…They Don’t Make Them Like That Anymore, that was a good one and She’d Give Anything, man they were some good tunes.

Well we are rolling along on this summer of love tour. Cleveland rocked indeed, great crowd. I feel like I need to apologize to all the folks in Cleveland and Northampton though because I have been really under the weather ever since Philly. I have been pushing my body to keep on rockin and the last two shows my body has really been pushing me back. But, the shows must go on. Anyway, since Chicago was cancelled maybe I can get a bit of rest and start healing up for Minneapolis. See the Lord’s plan isn’t always our plan but He knew we would need that night off and so He cancelled Chicago. Praise Him!
Love you all and thanks for the support throughout this tour!
Especially love to you Tom, I miss you!!!

Hello Jesse,
First; your contribution to Heartbeat of Love was outstanding !
Congratulations to you and your Dad. Long Long Time fan of Richie’s. Saw him “live” with Buff many many moons ago but not since. Missed seeing you guys in VA.I had Tix but was unable to attend due to personal reasons. I was visiting my son this past week in St. Louis and discovered via the web site that Ruchie was playing HARRAH’S. Was planning to attend but when I was trying to purchase tix I saw the show was cancelled. I must
say as a Born Again Christian I was a little surprised at the Venue BUT then I thought …what better place to play !! We must not always “preach to the choir” Can you just shed a little light on what happened ? I hope all is well with Richie, You, and the rest of the family !
God Bless you all and especially Rich and the work he is doing in THE CHIRCH. Keep up God’s Work AND KEEP MAKING MUSIC…you have a wonderful future in it.
Take Care,
Ron in NC

Hi Ron,
Thanks for writing. I am so sorry to hear that you missed our VA show. We were just getting started so everything was fresh and we were all just so excited to be out playing. I pray everything is okay with your family and whatever the conflict was, I hope it was able to work itself out.
About the St. Louis show……we were planning on playing that show but the Kansas City show before that fell through, so we would have had to stay out on the road for 4 days waiting until St. Louis, which costs $$$$ for 5 of us to stay out on the road. Of course we all wanted to play it but by that time I think the Lord knew that we were all exhausted and ready to come home. I hope that answers your question. In regards to the venue, we have prayed that God will take us where ever he wants to and he has opened some pretty crazy doors. We go in with the Lord first and we will shine our light as bright as we can. This tour has been very interesting though. As you can imagine my dad draws two crouds…..one that just loves his music from the 60’s and 70’s and one that has followed his career and knows how awesome the Lord is and how he has played a huge part in his life. We get encouraged on the road but we also get questions from alot of fans. We play a mix of his old stuff to new heartbeat stuff to his devotional tunes. All we can say is that the Lord is in control and where he wants us to play we will. I hope you are able to catch us soon. Please keep checking my dad’s website as to where we will be playing.
God Bless you.

Jesse, I can’t believe how incredible you and your father sang together. If word doesn’t spread about how phenominal The Richie Furay Band is taking the stage by storm, I don’t know what will! Raine and I were floored at what a great show you all put on. Your solo was the most amazing of all, and I can’t wait to see the band again when you come through. Thank you especially for meeting us and hanging out for the short time we had. We feel blessed to know you all. Bring my cousin next time
Best of luck with everything on the rest of your tour!

Hey Sean.
Oh thanks for your sweet words. I am so happy you guys enjoyed the show. We had a good night too with the exception of the last song. Ha Ha oh well as my dad says…”what you see is what you get” No really we had fun too. It was great to see you both. You guys look fantastic and still so in love which is a beautiful thing. I was happy to see that you were able to move during the show to some seats that were closer. Thank you so much for your support and words of encouragment, I will pass them on to my dad. I sure hope that we can come back soon and I would love to have your cousin with me next time. Take care and hope to talk to you soon.
THANKS FOR BEING SO SUPPORTIVE!!!!
