Boy Howdy and Wrappin up the East Coast

Posted by admin on July 26th, 2007

Boy howdy it was good to be back East again! What great energy and great Richie Furay fans there are back there. BTW, Chris Hillman and the guys have been such a joy to play with. They are some really talented guys; so thanks Chris, Herb and Larry. Oh and speaking of Boy Howdy I just figured out that Larry played in that band, I used to sing their songs when I was a little girl…They Don’t Make Them Like That Anymore, that was a good one and She’d Give Anything, man they were some good tunes.

Well we are rolling along on this summer of love tour. Cleveland rocked indeed, great crowd. I feel like I need to apologize to all the folks in Cleveland and Northampton though because I have been really under the weather ever since Philly. I have been pushing my body to keep on rockin and the last two shows my body has really been pushing me back. But, the shows must go on. Anyway, since Chicago was cancelled maybe I can get a bit of rest and start healing up for Minneapolis. See the Lord’s plan isn’t always our plan but He knew we would need that night off and so He cancelled Chicago. Praise Him!

Love you all and thanks for the support throughout this tour!

Especially love to you Tom, I miss you!!!

Richie Furay is back, and he’s country-rockin it out at the Stagecoach Festival with the likes of Willie Nelson

Here’s an article that a California writer wrote. It’s made it’s way around the net a bit.

Richie Furay is back, and he’s country-rockin it out at the Stagecoach Festival with the likes of Willie Nelson, Emmylou Harris, George Strait, Kenny Chesney, Nickel Creek and a list of Country stars that blows your mind.

After over 20 years out of the mainstream music scene, Richie Furay has released a new album “Heartbeat of Love” that showcases the country-rock genre that Richie helped to forge back in the 60’s and 70’s. The new music features many of Richie’s comrades from back in the day including Steven Stills, Neil Young, Kenny Loggins, Chris Hillman and Richie’s daughter Jesse Furay Lynch.

Richie was part of the Stagecoach festival this past weekend which took place out in the dessert outside of Palm springs. What a show, and what a talented group Richie has put together. It’s become a family thing with Richie’s long-time musical collaborator Scott Sellen and Scott’s son Aaron along with drummer Alan Lempke, and Richie’s gorgeous daughter Jesse Furay Lynch singing the harmony licks that Richie was famous for with Buffalo Springfield and Poco; Jesse Lynch definitely has her pappa’s pipes and her pappa definitely still has his vocal prowess in tact. The two voices blend in a way that only amazing talent from the same gene pool could produce.

You can catch Richie and the band in his upcoming tour with ex Bird’s founding member, and Souther Hillman Furay cohort Chris Hillman. They put together a show that you don’t want to miss and it’s been a long time in coming!

Richie Furay at BB King’s tonight in New York City

Posted by admin on July 20th, 2007

Yeah, we are kickin’ it live tonight in NYC. BBKing’s is a really cool venue. Chris Hillman and Herb go on at 8:00pm ET and I think we start around 9:00pm. I’m pretty sure my Dad will be autographing the new CD Heartbeat of Love for any fans there so bring your copy if you already have it. We played in PA last night and Alexandria, VA the night before. Man Alexandria was a great audience! So NYC had better rock it out tonight. Especially since I lived here for 8 years, these are my peeps.

See you tonight at BB Kings.
