Just a private Richie Furay gig at Richie’s lawyer’s house
Posted by admin on June 1st, 2007Sorry it has taken me a while to respond to the inquiries about a Memorial day show. We did have a gig but it was a small gathering and a private event. Richie’s lawyer holds a Bolder Boulder party every year and has been asking my Dad to play for it for about 20 years now. Finally all things worked out, every one was available, and it happened. It went great despite the horrible allergy season we have been having out here in Colorado. That pine pollen or whatever it is, is real tough on your sinuses! But as always, my Dad is a consummate pro and I just continue to enjoy singing with him and learning more and more everytime we go out there together. The crowd was great, some true Richie Furay fans from way back and some from not so way back. Real enthusiastic and nice people who knew all the words to my Dad’s classics and loved his new songs wholeheartedly as if they had heard them ten years ago. We played some Buffalo Springfield tunes, Poco tunes, Souther Hillman Furay tunes and of course a lot of Richie tunes. I feel really blessed to sing with this band. There is a lot of talent flying around.
So anyway, sorry everyone couldn’t get into this show but we are gearing up for this tour so get your traveling shoes ready for some original country-rock!
Jesse
