Jesse Furay Lynch blog on the Richie Furay Tour!
Uncategorized May 22nd, 2007Hey everyone! I am Jesse Furay Lynch and this is my first blog posting!! I’m very excited about this blogging thing, hence all the exclamation marks.
I hope you all can enjoy my blog as a resource for a “what’s happening” with the gang in Richie Furay’s band. Not to be confused with “The Richie Furay Band” because as you know that was a different group with the exception of my dad of course. Richie currently has a very different group of really talented guys which consists of Richie Furay, Scott Sellen, Aaron Sellen and Alan Lempke; and then there’s the lone girl myself Jesse.
I am going to throw some blogs up that people have already written to somewhat get you all up to date on some of the most recent shows we’ve had. I hope you can all get some use out of this blog as a resource. Please feel free to bop in here and touch base with me to let me know what you think of each show or anything else music related. To see upcoming Richie Furay tour dates you can link through to www.richiefuray.com.
Thanks all. God bless you and I look forward to hearing from you!

Hi Jesse. It’s so cool that you are doing a blog now. I heard a rumor that your Dad and the band were playing a local Boulder show on Memorial Day. Can you tell me if that is indeed fact or fiction? I know a lot of people that would love to come see you guys play if so…
Thanks!

Thanks for sharing with us Jesse!

Hi Jesse. I tried to leave a comment but don’t see it showing up… I heard a rumor that Richie and the band were playing a local concert in Boulder, CO this weekend (Memorial Day). Is that acurate? There are a bunch of us that would love to see you guys rock it out if so..
~Thanks!

I heard that you are coming to NYC to do a show at B.B. Kings tonight! I can’t wait to hear your music live.

Hi Jesse! We saw you guys in Cleveland on 7/26. The show was great! You and Chris Hillman helped bring back to us the love of some great music. Your Dad signed a set list and a “Heartbeat Of Love” CD for us and told us that it was just a LP of love songs but play it loud anyway! We have and love it. He also said to e-mail him and let him know what we thought so please pass this along to him. Laura had a crush on him 38 years ago when see saw him in Poco! We love his music and your voices sound great together (he hasn’t lost a thing thru the years)! We have been together for almost 36 years now and are “believers” also. He helps us get thru this thing called life especially when it isn’t fun or fair! We hope you get to this area again in the near future, we’d love to see you again. Until then, God Bless! Bob & Laura

Hi Bob and Laura,
Wow. Thanks for writing and I will definately pass on the info to my Dad about his CD. He can always use the encouragement. It has been hard for him to get back into the music business after 20+ years, but we have been having so much fun and God is good. He is opening doors that we never thought would open so we are just going through with his guidance. It is awesome playing with him and seeing this Rock’n Roll side of my Dad.
Congrats on 36 years. Unfortunately, you don’t find many of those these days but way to go. I am almost at 4 and am very blessed.
Well I know that the band has so much fun playing in the east and in the midwest so we sure do hope to make it back to Ohio soon and when we do, it would be great to meet you. Thanks for your encouragement and God Bless.

hi, jesse….i enjoyed hearing you sing at the gig in malibu on saturday night…your vibrant voice and youthful stage presence greatly added to the positive vibrations in the music…you must really enjoy the treat of singing with your father’s band, but you should embark on a solo career sometime…come back and sing for us in malibu again sometime.

thank you so much for writing. i do enjoy singing with my dad. having the opportunity to sing some of his old songs and new songs is such a treat and so much fun for us both. as for your comment about me starting a solo career….i am learning to play guitar right now and am working on some writing as well. i wish my dad would have put a guitar in my arms earlier but he didn’t. scott is willing to help me too so i am very excited to see what happens. having a solo career would be a dream but i have to see what God has planned first. that always works best. thank you for writing in and thank you so much for coming to the show. we had a great time and i know it means alot to my dad for people to come out and support the band. THANKS!!!

Hello Jesse. I just wanted to write to tell you that you have a wonderful voice. It is truly a blessing to hear it and to hear it with you dad’s voice. I have seen you twice , I wanted to say hello but was too shy and didn’t want to bother.! Your dad is a great guy. He has pulled me through some tough times. I am a better man because of him.
Maybe next time you are in So. Cal I go up and say hello
Gob bless

Jesse, What was the name of the song you sang at the Liberty Hall in Lawrence, KS, Nov. 30? I remember some words were “why baby why” and “nobody knows,” and your dad said it was the first time it had been performed in public. It was a great show!

Hey thanks for writing in. Sorry it took me a couple of days to respond. The song I sang In KS is titled “why baby why” that’s it!!! Pretty simple. Thanks so much for coming to the show I hope you enjoyed it. We had a great time. Maybe next time we will have the whole band with us. That’ll rock!!!

Hey Andrew.
Don’t be shy next time, definately come up and say hello, and for sure we will make it back to Southern Cal hopefully sooner than later.
Well this is long overdue but thank you for coming out to see some of our shows. It is awesome to sing with my Dad and play some of his old stuff. I am so blessed to have him as my Dad. I am happy that he has been able to help you out a few times but we know where that strength comes from…the Lord.
Take care and God Bless.

I have been a fan of your Dad’s music for as long as I can remember. Been to a few concerts long ago and a couple of the not too distant ones. I helped sponsor a concert a couple of years ago up in Madison WI. My wife and I have a favorite song called “Promise of Love”. Perhaps you can suggest the band play that sometime. It always reminds me of how much I love my wife. It’s a beautiful love song. I haven’t gotten a chance to see or hear you other than on a film clip or listening to the CD. It would be great it you could work a tour date to Indianapolis into the schedule. My grandson attends the Horizon Christian School here in town and I’m sure would love to have you all do a praise and worship session. Nice blog. I’m not real web savy, but thought I would post that it isn’t often that your favorite author is also a brother in Christ and appears to have raised a wonderful Christian family.
Shalom,
Chuck

Hi Chuck. Thanks for writing on my blog. I actually love that song Promise of love too. I would always sing it growing up. I know we, meaning the band, would love to come to Indy and play at your church. I will suggest it to my dad. We are working on a tour for this coming April so please check my dad’s website which is richiefuray.com or you can check here on my blog too. I will post our tour dates as soon as we have them. It was nice to hear from you, God Bless you and hope to see you soon.

Hey Mort……
We would all love to get down to San Antonio sometime soon. I am sure if I mention it to my Dad he will say let’s go……but sometimes you have to wait for God’s timing. Hopefully we will see you sooner than later.
Thanks for letting me know that you want us to come down though, it’s is always nice to know.

Hey Carolyn,
Well….regarding April. We are praying that we will be on the road but I don’t have any firm word yet. I will post dates as soon as I know something, however I usually post after my dad post’s his. Don’t want to steal his thunder. Ha Ha just kidding. Hope you are well and hope to see you on the road soon. Thanks for writing in.
